tttrip brings together the work of three artists who work through installations and sculpture, Claudia O’Steen, Garret Gould, and Sophia Sobers. Each of the artists is interested in interpreting the word ‘trip’ as a form of disconnection or temporal experience. O’Steen’s work features analogue and digital communications devices that force the viewer to engage with them and consider their level of control over them what they take from such devices. Gould’s work is more playful, humorous, and witty and prefers to set up tricks and jokes that tease the perceptions of the viewer to reveal something new or a different way of seeing. Sobers, meanwhile, arranges objects so that they draw attention to their surroundings to create a more meditative experience emphasising ephemerality and the passing of time.
