Julianne Merino Was Born in Hickory, North Carolina and attended Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School in South Hadley, Massachusetts with a concentration in visual arts.
She graduated from Massachusetts College of Art & Design with a major in printmaking. Her work combines personal and social icons that are muted or amplified in meaning through relationship, placement, or environment. She creates narratives that reflect on the feeling of social separation from claiming identity externally on a macro level, while discovering personal symbols through internal memory. Julianne currently lives and works out of New Orleans, Louisiana for ART + DESIGN Magazine.
