TEEM Artist of the day- Jon Verney

After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2010, Jon Verney emigrated to Florence, Italy, where he worked as a teaching assistant and darkroom technician at a small art school.  During the three and a half years he was there, his work was heavily influenced by the entropic grandeur of his surroundings, as well as the historical role of the artist as both a craftsman and scientist.

The works in this exhibition are part of his current research dealing with subjects ranging from deterioration of memory, cloud-seeding and data-driven generative art practices.  He is currently pursuing an MFA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
